Twilio Connection Error

Prev Next

You might come across an error stating “Text Message failed to send: Connection Error: POSThttps://api.twilio.com/…..” and your text messages are not being sent out. This connection error was caused by a temporary network issue between MaidCentral servers and Twilio. These issues will correct themselves, and text messages will go out and be delivered as normal.

One thing to note is that when a text fails to send, MaidCentral will automatically update the contact type from Cell Phone to Other and mark it as unsubscribed. This combination will prevent future text messages from going through. For leads, you can go into the Customers > Search Leads and Quotes to find your lead. In their profile, go to Edit at the top of the page, and re-add the phone number as Cell Phone.

For customers, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Customer Profile.

  2. Go to the Contacts & Notifications section.

  3. Click on the contact that has a black symbol associated with it.

  4. In the contact details, uncheck the Unsubscribed box.

  5. Change the Contact Type to Cell Phone.

  6. Click Save.

If a text message fails to go through for any reason, any notifications linked to this number will be removed. To recreate those reminders, click the Create Notification button located at the bottom section of the page. Once these changes are made, the customers and leads will receive texts per usual.

To find anyone impacted, go to the Ticket Report under Reports > All Reports, select Customer and Quote for Type, and search for "Connection Error". You'll need to pull this report twice: once for Open tickets and once for Closed tickets.
