QuickBooks Payments is a QuickBooks service that lets customers pay an invoice via a PDF. These payments are not being processed through the credit card processor integrated with your MaidCentral Account. This article explains how to check whether this service is enabled, tell if a customer paid via QuickBooks Payments, and turn it off.
What the Customer Sees?
In MaidCentral, you can open an invoice for a customer by going to the Customer Profile > QuickBooks tab and opening an unpaid invoice. Click Download PDF to view the invoice. If you see a “View and Pay” button, QuickBooks Payments is enabled in QBO (see below).

In the Customer Profile > QuickBooks tab, you can tell if a payment was processed through QuickBooks Payments. Each payment will be labeled in the Notes with “Paid via QuickBooks Payment” if processed this way.

How to Cancel your QuickBooks Payments
Sign in to the Merchant Service Center as an admin user.
Select the Account tab and then Account Profile.
Select Close Account. If you don't see this option, make sure you're signed in as the account admin. If you still have problems, reach out to QBO’s support team.
In the Reason for closing dropdown, select a reason, and add any comments you'd like to share.
When you're ready, select Submit.
For more information, check out QBO’s guide for QuickBooks Payments.
Do I Need to Disable QuickBooks Payments?
This is up to you and your business. These payments will not be recorded in MaidCentral beyond what’s visible in the QuickBooks tab. Invoices' statuses will still change to paid if a customer pays their invoice through this method.
Though this offers your customers greater flexibility by allowing them to pay via the PDF invoice, it can make payment management more challenging for the office, as you’re now collecting payments through your credit card processor and QuickBooks Payments. QuickBooks Payments is separate from your credit card processor that’s connected to your MaidCentral account.
Customers can already pay for their invoices directly through the Customer Portal if needed.
