Trainee Position Factor - How it works, Common Issues and Faq

Scheduling - 

The trainee position factor, allows you to remove, or shorten the time taken away from labor hours. when there is a trainee on the job

To manage the Trainee Position Factor you will need to go to the technician settings of the specific scope of work

Found in the Company Tab > Quoting and Scopes > Scopes of work tab> Inside the scope of work > General Settings > Technician settings

MaidCentral gives you the option to 1/4 , 1/3, 1/2, or remove the trainee time on jobs

The Trainee Position Factor is unique to each Scope of Work and will affect the "time to complete for all jobs in that scope of work when a trainee is assigned to the job" 

Changing and managing your trainee position factor will determine how a job's workload is calculated into the split of the Allowed Hours

Facts about Trainee Position Factor

  • The Trainee Position Factor does not affect the pay
  • All Trainees will be paid the Trainee Hourly Wage that is set at Company > General > Payroll Options
  • The Trainee Position Factor does not work if a trainee is assigned to a team by themselves

Common Issues

My Trainee position factor is set to 0 but the hours of the job are still being lowered!

  • The most common reason for this issue is because the trainee is scheduled on a team alone. Due to not being able to divide by 0 - Trainee Position Factor does not work if a trainee is assigned to a team by themselves
