3/12 MMA -

  • MMA stands for - Monthly Moving Average
  • MMA is calculated by adding up all the data points during a specific period and dividing the sum by the number of time periods. Below is the exact calculation for 3 and 12 MMA
  • A moving average is a technique to get an idea of trends that are happening and predict where those trends are headed and what is the cause of those trends

Formula:

[(The sum of the Term from the current date to the last 12 weeks) x (4)]  / {[(Sum of the Start # from current -> last 12 weeks)+(Sum of the End from current ->last 12 weeks)/2]/13}

Below is the calculation as seen in an excel spreadsheet

3MMA = =SUM(E3:E15)*4/((SUM(C3:C15)+SUM(F3:F15))/2/13)
