# Why isn't my technician showing productivity after closing payroll?

**In order for an employee to show productivity stats, they cannot have the Default Position of Trainee. Trainees do not impact productivity.**

Once they are changed to Team Member or Captain, their productivity will be calculated and displayed after you close payroll.
