They give you a more consistent view of labor, one that reflects not just how long a job took, but how productively that time was used.MaidCentral uses your stored productivity ratings in two places, and each one applies them a little differently. Here's what each means. ## What is productivity? Productivity is calculated as follows: Allowed Labor Hours / Actual Labor Hours for a technician. It reflects how efficient your technicians are for that scope of work. ## 1. Dispatch Board: Normalized Allowed Hours The Dispatch Board shows Normalized Allowed Hours, which is the Allowed Hours for a job weighted by each employee’s productivity. How it's calculated: Normalized Allowed Hours (for a job) = Sum of all Tech Normalized Allowed Labor Hours Normalized Allowed Hours = Tech Allowed Labor Hours ÷ Productivity Tech Percent of Job = Individual Job Time ÷ Total Job Time Tech Allowed Labor Hours = Tech Percent of Job × Total Allowed Labor Hours ## 2. Rates Report: Normalized Avg. Actual Hours The Rates Report shows Normalized Average Actual Hours, which is the average time actually worked on jobs, weighted by each employee's productivity. How it's calculated: Normalized Avg. Actual Hours = (Sum of [Actual Time in Seconds × Employee Productivity] for all timesheets) ÷ (Count of Jobs) ÷ 3600 (The ÷ 3600 converts seconds into hours.) Important filters: - Only jobs where all employees on the job have a productivity rating for that service set type are included. - The report uses filtered timesheets based on your job filter criteria (date range, exclude first-time-in, exclude trainees, etc.). How it compares to regular average actual hours: | Metric | Formula | | --- | --- | | Avg. Actual Hours | Total time worked ÷ Number of jobs | | Normalized Avg. Actual Hours | (Total time worked × productivity) ÷ Number of jobs | The normalized version weights each hour by the employee's productivity factor, so hours worked by highly productive employees count for more than hours worked by less productive employees. ## The key difference between the two | | Dispatch Board | Rates Report | | --- | --- | --- | | What it normalizes | Allowed hours | Actual hours | | How productivity is applied | Divides by productivity | Multiplies by productivity | | Effect when productivity is under 1 | Hours get larger | Hours get smaller | Both use the same stored productivity ratings, but they apply them in opposite directions to serve different reporting goals: - The Dispatch Board divides allowed hours by productivity, which makes the allowed hours larger when productivity is below 1. - The Rates Report multiplies actual hours by productivity, which makes them smaller when productivity is below 1. --- ## Need Help?
